Dam & Partners Architecten designed the interior for Jackie, the first magazine-related restaurant club in the Netherlands. The club embraces a total concept of nightlife, meeting people and dining. Its interior is a celebration of contrasts: cheerful colours combined with sombre black; glamorous lighting effects contradicted by a rough wooden floor; while the round forms and undulating lines in the club area stand out against the rigid straight forms in the restaurant, with its large open kitchen and view over the Maas. One particularly striking element is the undulating wall of glass tubes behind the likewise meandering bar, in which products from Jackie advertisers are displayed.
Interior Architecture discipline is acknowledged as new approach to addressing unhealthy living ennvironment; its constantly evolving response to meet human physical and psychological needs. As such, the speed and flexibility in human response demand an equally adaptable set of analytical tools, design approaches and production methods.
Also, Interior Architect could redefined as a space Psychologist. I truly believes that Interior Architecture has the power to transform, to heal,to teach, to inspire and to unite. The design of
interior spaces in a building may depend on the architectural aspect and its having a powerful impact on the level of well being, social
interaction and collaboration within a community of living environment. Unconsciously, we are also in helping to shape one's behavior, minds and
perceptions bringing out new connections and contrasts; organising and re-organising experience and thus making and re-making our world to build better future integrated with sustainable living, play and working environment.
